This is not a rule, but a request.
I don't have any individuals in mind but have noticed a number of posts that do not follow the normal rules for public writing. Some examples include posts made with fragmented sentences, all lower case letters, and numerous spelling errors.
It takes longer to read through these posts and can make it difficult for the reader to figure out what you are asking.
So please, before you hit submit, take a moment and proof read your post. The spell check feature here is admittedly not very good, but there are many others you can download such as the one with the Google toolbar, that are much better.
You aren't being graded and no one expects perfection. It's just a matter of courtesy to the other forum members who are reading your posts.
Thanks,
Sean

In addition to the above, please use paragraphs when writing long text. It's hard to read a post, or even an e-mail or pm for that matter, when the message is 300 words with no paragraph breaks.
Using paragraphs, besides the normal reasons, serves as a break for the eyes. Trust me...as someone who spends a lot of time looking at my computer screen, it makes a difference.
Thanks! |

I've noticed a bit more frequently that users are posting their subject titles in ALL CAPS. Please do not do this. It is unnecessary.
I know that you are trying to draw attention to your post to get a quick answer or avoid being overlooked. Trust me, none of the posts get overlooked and everyone else feels that their questions are important too.
If you want to get the best help possible, make sure you create a detailed subject line. You'll draw the attention of those best able to help you with your questions.
Thanks! |
